Many schools and universities are offering academic programs to students who want to pursue a career in journalism, television or radio, but there is no standard curriculum, because there are so many different types of media that must be covered. So, you have to learn which are the journalistic topics that you need to be familiar with and which ones you can learn more about during your career.
The first step in learning more about a topic is to have a strong background in the area of your interest. If you haven't studied journalism, it is also helpful to have some previous training in any of the media for that matter.
